Cusco – Rafting (1D)

#1 – RAFTING THE URUBAMBA (Dry Season: Apr – Nov)
For this Sacred Valley rafting tour,
we depart Cusco at 7:30am for a 1-hour drive to reach our put-in at Pachar.  After our safety briefing, we begin rafting small rapids and calmer strecthes to practice the basics of river running technique.  While on the calmer stretches we will pass Inca ruins and terraces, learning about the hsitory of these Inca architectural feats.  We also will pass a unique, original, ancient Inca bridge.  Later in the day the rapids increase in difficulty until we reach our take-out point at a town near Ollantaytambo.  After lunch we have our return transfer to Cusco (2 hrs). #2 – RAFTING THE URUBAMBA (Rainy Season: Dec – Mar)
During the Rainy Season, This section of the Urubamba will be used for our Sacred Valley rafting tour. We depart Cusco at 7:30am and drive 40 minutes to reach our put-in in the town of Pinipampa in the Sacred Valley.  After our safety briefing, we begin an exciting day of introductory river rafting down the urubamba River.  We will stop for lunch midway and then continue down the rapids to our take-out point of San Salvador.  A quick change of clothes, and we ride to the town of Pisac for our return transfer to Cusco (1 hr). Rafting location is based on maintaining Class II & III levels during the Dry or Rainy Season.
