GALAPAGOS ISLANDS OFF THE UNESCO DANGER LIST

July 30, 2011 – We are pleased to inform you that the Galápagos Islands are officially off the list of World Heritage Sites in danger.

UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee voted to take the islands off the list. The committee took its decision “after analyzing reports on the state of conservation in the Galápagos Islands and confirming that Ecuador’s government is committed to continuing to improve the state of the archipelago.”
