After a long flight to Ushuaia, Argentina (on the island of Tierra del Fuego), it was a great to do a day hike to Laguna Esmerelda. My guide Daniela was exceptional at explaining everything from Tierra del Fuego flora and fauna in the area, to favorites bars & restaurants in Ushuaia. Move over Ken Burns… please to enjoy this multimedia extravaganza!

Hola Travelers – Tierra del Fuego is an island that lies south of Chile/Argentina. After 27 hours of flying from Seattle, and 5 plane changes I was ecstatic when I saw that my bag had also arrived in Ushuaia (Argentina). Sure the flight was long, but the flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas, along the spine of the Andes was incredible – Mt. Fitzroy (Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina) is the peak in the photo with the patagonian ice fields. After all that flying it was time for a beer with my plane mate Ben, from Australia.
