Hola Travelers – Tierra del Fuego is an island that lies south of Chile/Argentina, with the city of Ushuaia being the departure port for Antarctic cruises. After 27 hours of flying from Seattle, and 5 plane changes I was ecstatic when I saw that my bag had also arrived in Ushuaia (Argentina). Sure the combined flight was long, but the flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas, along the spine of the Andes provided incredible views of peaks, glaciers and ice fields – Mt. Fitzroy (Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina) is the peak in the photo with the patagonian ice fields. After all that flying it was time for a cold beer with my plane mate Ben, from Australia.
